Original Watercolor - "Monstera Adansonii"
Original Watercolor - "Monstera Adansonii"
Some of you may know this but I’m a not-so-secret plant lady. Like most plant people, I have a long list of “unicorn” plants that I’m dreaming of adding to my collection. Because most of them are so hard to get a hold of (and I’m an impatient artist), I decided it might be fun (and satisfying) to paint some of my dream plants because I’m not totally sure when I will be lucky enough to own the real thing!
Monstera Adansonii aka Swiss Cheese Plant, is a native to Central and South America. This plant I happily own and is off my wish list! I absolutely love their big wrinkly leaves when they mature. Their leaves can actually grow quite large in the right conditions and yield some really intense fenestrations (holes) on the leaves.
9“ x 12”" original watercolor painting on acid-free, 140lb, cold press, watercolor paper. Signed on front. Scientific name noted on back.
